Booking & Reservations
How do I make a reservation for a campervan?
It’s easy! Make reservations online, call (+1) 208-712-8100, or email reservations@campervannorthamerica.com
.
A 20% down payment is required, with final payment due 30 days before arrival.
Full payment is required for bookings within 30 days.
How far in advance should I make reservations?
As early as possible. We recommend booking your campervan before your flights.
What should I book first – my campervan or my flight?
Always book your campervan first.
What happens if our plane is late and we can’t get to you by 6?
As a rule, we are not jerks — we will be there.
Pick Up, Drop Off & Logistics
What are the pick up and drop off times for rented campervans?
Pick up times are between 9AM and 6PM.
Drop off is at the time stated on your reservation.
We often do not meet customers for drop off as our facility has a key drop box.
Is transportation provided to/from airports or hotels?
No. Please arrange your own transport via taxi, shuttle, or similar.
Vehicles & Features
What is a campervan?
Converted vans designed for sleeping, cooking, and sometimes showering — combining comfort with easy driving.
How many people can a campervan sleep?
1–5 people depending on the model.
Are your campervans 4-wheel drive?
No, they are 2-wheel drive and intended for maintained roads.
Do you also rent accessories to go along with your campervans?
Yes, a range of accessories and gear is available depending on the model.
What is included in the campervan rental?
Each campervan includes essential items such as a flashlight and first aid kit. Additional accessories may be available depending on the model.
I have a CPAP machine. Should I rely on the van’s batteries to run it all night?
No. It’s not unusual for systems to trip. We recommend using a CPAP with its own rechargeable power source so you can charge it while driving and sleep without interruption.
Drivers & Requirements
What are the driver requirements?
Minimum age is 23 for the Edelweiss and 25 for the rest of the fleet.
An international driver’s licence is not required, but you must hold a valid licence from your home country.
Travel, Camping & Destinations
Where can I travel?
Anywhere in the US and Canada. Travel to Mexico is strictly prohibited.
Where can I camp?
We recommend using state parks and Recreation.gov to find campsites.
For Yellowstone, Xanterra manages many campgrounds that are not listed on Recreation.gov.
Where do most of your customers travel to?
Yellowstone is the most popular, followed by Glacier and Grand Teton National Parks — the Northern Rockies Big 3.
What other parks or areas are nearby?
Nearby are Banff, Jasper, Waterton Lakes, Devils Tower, Theodore Roosevelt, Badlands, Black Hills, Craters of the Moon, and the Sawtooth National Recreation Area.
Is your Montana location a good starting point for a large American road trip?
Absolutely. It’s beautiful and has some of the lowest taxes in the US, helping you save.
One-Way Rentals
What are the requirements for one-way rentals?
One-way rentals require a minimum of 14 nights and must start in our Montana location. Contact us for details and pricing.
Where can I do one-way rentals to?
We do not allow one-way rentals to Jackson, Wyoming or any Montana cities.
Popular destinations include Las Vegas, Denver, and Seattle.
Further destinations can be quoted but may require additional return time.
Pricing, Mileage, Insurance & Policies
Is a security deposit required?
Yes, a fully refundable US$750 deposit is required, subject to conditions (no damage, clean return, fuel full, etc.).
Are any deposits required?
Yes, the same US$750 deposit is charged with final payment and refunded if conditions are met.
What is your cancellation policy?
Refunds (less an $85 fee) may apply depending on timing and conditions. Contact us for full details.
What insurance is required?
Customers must purchase a Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) unless they can provide proof of coverage for an RV or conversion van.
The CDW has a $500 deductible. Liability coverage is provided at state minimum levels, which vary by state.
Supplemental liability insurance is available through MBASLI.com (must be purchased at least one week before your trip).

25. Is there a mileage limit?
Yes, rentals include 75 free miles per day.
Additional miles are charged at $0.50 per mile.
Unlimited miles can be purchased for $30 per day.
Rules & Responsibilities
Am I allowed to smoke in my campervan?
No. Smoking will result in loss of your deposit and additional cleaning charges.

Do you operate in winter?
No, we are closed during winter.

What are the advantages of a motorhome vs. a campervan?
Motorhomes may offer more space but are bulkier and harder to handle.

Better fuel efficiency, easier driving, access to remote areas, and a simpler travel experience.

Our campervans are premium builds offering better performance, efficiency, and overall experience.

They are built on high-quality chassis with superior construction.
What about your smallest campervan, the Edelweiss?
It’s purchased new, meaning lower mileage and fewer issues than competitors.
Why don’t you paint your campervans bright colours?
We prefer a clean, simple look that complements the natural surroundings.
Contingencies
What happens if you can’t provide the van we booked?
We may offer a free upgrade at no charge if your original van is unavailable.
