11 National Parks
This ambitious itinerary connects many of the most spectacular national parks of the American West in an amazing figure-8 loop with a minimum of backtracking. Highlights include Yellowstone, Zion, the much less visited North Rim of the Grand Canyon, Canyonlands and Arches not to mention oodles of great scenery between destinations. In our view this route should not be attempted with less than a two week time frame, though it can quite easily be shortened at many points along the way. That said, no matter how you slice it, you’ll still probably want to spend 14 days or more. There’s just too much to see.
In addition to the national parks you’ll be treated to wonderful views of the west side to the Grand Tetons, quaint Park City, Utah (venue for the 2002 Winter Olympics), Provo Canyon, Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, the snow-capped peaks of western Colorado and much more.
This map is not a substitute for the detail of a good road map. Several short side trips not indicated on the map will be required to access all the national parks.
